Preschool kids join RFC day, Nutri-Month celebration in Sarangani

Rose Feeds the Children – Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino’s better half Roselyn, who is the local nutrition action officer, deliver in her speech the importance of proper nutrition for children during the LGU-SMI initiated Rose Feeds the Children (RFC) program. The affair, which was graced by no less Rep. Manny Pacquiao and wife, Vice Gov. Jinkee Jamora-Pacquiao, was held in correlation to the commemoration of the 39th Nutrition Month and the first lady’s natal day celebration  in Malungon, Sarangani Province.  (Isagani Palma – MALUNGON INFORMATION OFFICE).

MALUNGON, Sarangani – Hundreds of kids from different preschools were given various toys and gifts amid the celebration of the 39th Nutrition Month that was initiated by Sagittarius Mine’s (SMI) and the local government, through its Rose Feeds the Children (RFC) program in Malungon, Sarangani Province.

                Dubbed as “Gutom at malnutrisyon, sama-sama nating wakasan,” the whole day affair was attended by no less Sarangani Cong. Manny Pacquiao and wife, Vice Governor-elect Jinkee Jamora-Pacquiao who shared their time of having fun with kids from the 15 nursery schools of barangays Malalag Cogon, Malandag and Nagpan at the municipal gymnasium.

                 RFC organizer Roselyn Dadivas-Constantino, better half of Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino said the celebration was assisted by Sagittarius Mines Incorporated (SMI) in its bid to share the company’s concern on children’s health and nutrition. SMI officials said these are among the priorities that are specified under its community education and development programs.

                 “Actually this is now the second time that Sagittarius Mines have shared assistance to our RFC nutrition program. Last year, the company also helped the local government in sharing food and gifts to over a thousand children at Sunken Arena here in this municipality,” said Constantino, who also thanked the Pacquiao couple of their unfading support to the Constantino administration. 

                Mayor Constantino said the gathering was held in bond to his wife’s (Roselyn) birthday celebration on July 13, day before Malungon town celebrated its 2-day (July 14-15, 2013) star studded 44th –year Foundation Anniversary. 

                Reports said through the efforts and direct supervision of Ms. Constantino, the local nutrition council’s concurrent chairperson, Malungon have able to achieve prestigious awards as being Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition in 2007 and 2008, in Region 12.
