MALUNGON, Sarangani – Local government officials, department heads and members of the Association of the Barangay Captains here conducted a two-day Map presentation and Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) studies to strengthen more, the municipal government’s programs in development at the Family Country Homes Hotel in General Santos City.  
Nonito Nunez, municipal planning and development coordinator, said the CLUP colloquium includes the actual Map presentation of the town’s 31 comprising barangays to identify and solve various problems on ‘conflicted’ borderlines, and iron out the proposed municipal development plan before it will be forwarded for evaluation and approval of the provincial land use committee.
Among the undertaken issues also include the conflicted boundaries of Malungon, Gen. Santos City and the nearby province of Davao Del Sur.
Sarangani Gov. Miguel Dominguez, Vice Gov. Steve Solon and 1002nd Army brigade commander, Col. Glorioso Miranda also visited the venue to show their support and guidance to the attending participants.
Department of the Interior and Local Government provincial director Flor Limpin Jr., said the CLUP, after the careful study and arrangements by the local government unit, will be subjected to the final review and evaluation of the provincial land use committee (PLUC) for it to decide if the plan of the municipality conforms with the provincial physical framework and development plans.
“CLUP is a document which determines if where, and what kind of businesses and agri-industrial structures  will be establish in town. This includes residential, commercial and or on industrial firms,” said Limpin, who represents the DILG in the provincial reviewing committee.
              In the past years, the Constantino administration had been conducting a modified system in search of long-range development guide which is now starting to reap its fruit in terms of growth and development in the local community. Through this, the mayor said, he could able to provide Juan Dela Cruz the paradigm of a well-reformed governance system before his term of office ends in 2013.
