MALUNGON, Sarangani – Tribal communities and top local and provincial government officials have lauded the swift construction of the P.8M-worth 2-classroom project by the ABS-CBN Foundation and the Army’s National Development Support Command (NADESCOM) at Lamlifew Elementary School in Brgy. Datal Tampal here, this municipality.
Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino said the project was made possible through concerted effort of AFP-Nadescom, ABS-CBN’s ‘Sagip Kapamilya’ program, local government of Malungon, Department of Education and the provincial government of Sarangani.
“Launched on September (this year), the project spearheaded by both ABS-CBN television network and Nadescom aims to enhance the educational facilities of schools located at far flung villages. And such, this project was of great help to us specifically in our priority to strengthen learning facilities in places which are predominantly occupied by our indigenous peoples” Constantino said.
Aside from the project opening, ABS-CBN Foundation through its ‘Bantay Bata 163’ program also launched a 120-day feeding program in Lamlifew Elementary School, purposely to supplement underweight pupils with nutritious food and other needed nutrients.
“I am very much willing to prize every pupil that would able to gain weight of at least five kilogram after the feeding program,” Palma said.
Meanwhile, General Holganza also thanked the assistance and cooperation shown by the local community to NADESCOM and the rest of the working soldiers during the process of the project construction. He assured locals of more NADESCOM support in an aim to help enhance the living condition of meager constituents in the entire country.
