This project is the actualization of the government’s Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) “Bayanihan”.  This plan entails the convergence of efforts of all stakeholders including the public and private sectors.  “In our Peace and Development Outreach Program (PDOP), the primary ingredient is the developmental efforts in the area.  The military will always be a conveyance of the LGU to help them bring the basic services to far-flung areas.  Insurgency is not only a military solution, rather, all peace and development stakeholders should converge and collaborate with each other for the primary purpose of achieving lasting peace and sustainable development”, ani Miranda.

Manuel Ramiro ng NADESCOM, Sarangani Board Member Eleonor Saguiguit, Michael Bren Evangelio, Chief of Staff of Congressman Pacquiao, Dr Allan Farnazo, Sarangani Schools Division Superintendent, Malungon Vice-Mayor Benjamin Guilley at Datal Tampal Brgy Capt Mila Ingles.(Isagani Palma - MALUNGON INFORMATION OFFICE).

MALUNGON, Sarangani – The Department of Agriculture have released some P2M-worth of farm inputs and equipments in Sarangani and the nearby city of General Santos in a bid to spur up farming and promote Pres. Aquino’s Agri-Pinoy Program in Central Mindanao Region.

DA-12 officials Dir. Amalia Datukan said the “Ulat sa Bayan (second round)” or 2nd Agri-Pinoy Information Caravan in Malungon town was conducted in correlation with Pres. Nonoy Aquino’s Agri-Pinoy Program (APP), aimed at pursuing a sustainable agriculture development agenda along the countryside through the active participation of all local government units, farmers, students, non-government organizations and the private sector  as well.

Over a hundred local government, barangay and non-government organization officials led by Sarangani Gov. Miguel Dominguez, Malungon town Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino and DARFO-12 dir. Bai Dido Samama have graced the said occasion that was held at the municipal gymnasium, the report said.

Nelson Sadang, Constantino’s Agri-Flagship director said DA-12 have bestowed Malungon town with some P.8M-worth agro-forestry and development projects during the event. He said among those given to Malungon were two mini-corn mills and a variety of vegetable seeds and garden tools intended to 26 elementary and secondary schools in the municipality.

Constantino, in a brief huddle with newsmen, said the current campaign of the Aquino administration lucidly shows a well-regimented kind of leadership, “strengthened by its noble task to perk up the living condition of the underprivileged people.”

I preferred agriculture to be my flagship program because I understand its significance specifically to those who are living the far flung villages of town),” said Constantino in a vernacular.

Gov. Dominguez also assured Malungonians of ample support from the provincial government.

“As you have seen, most of our heavy equipments in the province are now here to augment the LGU-heavy fleet in the opening of new farm-to-market roads. What I am only asking is for farmers to concentrate more in developing our idle lands. Somehow, this could shield us against the unreasonable increase in the prices of farm produce being sold at the local market. Eventually, sustainable farming would also help control exorbitant price hike due to the irrepressible increases in population in the upcoming years.” Dominguez said. (Isagani Palma/MIO-Malungon).

MALUNGON, SaranganiMayor Reynaldo F. Constantino have solemnized on Thursday, a mass wedding ceremony to some 194 Blaan and Tagakaulo couples that dwells the nearby tribal villages of sitio Dalamuan in Brgy. Lutay, here in this municipality.

Lydia Erasmo, the town’s longtime local registrar office chief, said “the event was a vary day for her to witness the swarming quantity of grooms and brides, where ladies in attendance have almost completely adorned themselves with different T’nalak inspired accessories.

The carrying out of mass wedding in all of the 31 comprising barangays of Malungon town is part of Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino’s commitment during the weekly ‘Lingap sa Barangay’ of the local government which provides people living the far flung communities  with ample basic and social services.

“Through this undertaking, I would able to personally assess and take action on my people’s plight. And likewise, let them feel that what they have today is a subsisting, yet firmer kind of leadership that knows no boundaries in the name of public service,” Constantino said.

On Thursday, a Constantino-led caravan stretched off its way towards Dalamuan, a predominated village for the Tagakaulo tribe which means - ‘People of the Mountain Tops,’ that is located atop the surrounding steep portion of the Davao Del Sur and Sarangani borderlines.

The 57-year old Lanosa Quima, after availing the authenticity of marriage with wife Bleng, said “it is quit hard to believe that I and my 37-year old son eldest son Ruben have just stood right before the mayor to both receive our matrimonial blessings.  The elder Lanosas, who had been together for over 40 years, are blessed with 10 siblings.

I am doing these (tribal weddings) in a desire to legalize the marital status of the underprivileged, specifically those who have been living together, bore siblings, and yet starve the different government benefits such as the 4Ps and PhilHealth care due to the lack of (marriage contract) required documents, “said the half-blooded Blaan chief executive of Malungon town. (Isagani P. Palma/ MIO-Malungon).
