Village groups receive P7.5M MRDP-CFAD assistance

MALUNGON, Sarangani – The Agriculture Department in Region 12, thru the Mindanao Rural Development Program and Community Fund for Agriculture Development (MRDP-CFAD) has released a total of P7.5million assistance to various people’s organizations in a bid to improve the living condition of residents in the impoverish barangays.

Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino said Friday (September 13, 2013) the latest MRDP-CFAD assistance amounting to P2.5million was released through a simple turn-over ceremony dubbed as “Improving peoples lives, reaching farther and wider,” on August 28, 2013.

The people’s organizations that were lately benefited of P500, 000 each were: The Nagkaiusang mag-uuma para sa kalambuan sa Brgy. Tamban (represented by its president Susan Tamulon); Nagkahiusang Kabayen-an ug kabatan-unan sa Brgy. Lutay (Honie Mendoza); Nagkaiusang Katawhan sa Brgy. Panamin (Lorena Cajelo); Upper Lumabat Integrated Farmers Association (Rosemarie Tabialan) and the United People of Barangay San Juan (Jayla Sarmillo).

Constantino said the first MRDP-CFAD releases’ amounting to P2.5M was stressed on January 2012. He said this was followed by another P2.5million for barangays Laurel, Banate, Kawayan, San Miguel and San Roque late last year.

“Kabalo ko nga indi man lipud sa publiko nga ginahimo gid sang aton mga opisyales sa lokal nga pangamhanan ang tanan para magin tayuyon na ang pag-asenso sang aton lugar. Gani, ginatan-aw ko gid ang kadaku sang nabulig sa Malungon sang mga proyekto halin sa MRDP-CFAD, hilabi na sa Departamento sang Agrikultura diri sa rehiyon-12 nga padayon nga mabakod nga nagasuporta sang Agri-flagship program sang munisepyo,” Constantino said in a vernacular.  

Bobby Lumen, MRDP-CFAD region-12 coordinator, said the project was designed to provide farmers and different participating NGOs, with the opportunity to develop their farm produce, equipments, methods, and capital.

Other provincial government officials who attended the turnover ceremony were: CFAD coordinator Victor Baylon, Jonathan Duhaylungsod (OPAG), Gensan-Sarangani DA project coordinator Joy Misterio, Marish Emnace (PPDO) and Eunice Lasalita (PPDO).  (Isagani Palma – MALUNGON INFORMATION OFFICE).
